This 42 year old male had history of dysuria and retention of urine. Transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) imaging revealed an obvious cystic lesion in the prostate, adjacent to the neck of the bladder. The cyst was thin walled, measuring 15mm. in size showed a few septae and contains clear fluid. The urologist punctured the cyst during cystoscopy. The patient had immediate symptomatic relief. Retention cysts of the prostate are true cysts and can lead to obstructive symptoms if close to the bladder outlet (as in this case).
