Diatom 3d Models (Free)

Outreach for National Science Foundation Project:
Group-Specific Diatom Silica Production in a Coastal Upwelling System

In coastal regions, diatoms and dinoflagellates play important roles in the food web.  Below are 3-d object files (OBJ) for five coastal genera of phytoplankton including:

Diatoms -
Chaetoceros sp. (pictured, left)
Odontella sp.
Pseudo-nitzschia (pictured, right)

Dinoflagellates -
Karenia brevis
Ceratium sp.
