  • As they read Gerda Weissman Klein's All But My Life, a Holocaust survivor's incredible memoir, for a literature circles project, Stephen, Stephanie, and Megan responded to a prompt to get in touch with an international expert by contacting Mr. and Mrs. Zacahrias and Trude Kutner.  Through an invite and arrangement set up entirely by the students, the Kutners attended class on May 17th, 2011, 66 years and nine days after Zacharias was liberated.  His incredible story touched all present and connected closely with similar stories of resilience reflected in all of our literature circles books.  Hats off to Stephen, Stephanie, and Megan for creating this experience for all of us!  Mr. Kutner's talk can be viewed below.
