The Strokes announce the release date for their highly anticipated fourth album, Angles, on March 22nd via RCA records in the US, and March 21st via Rough Trade Records in the UK. Angles is the band s first new release since 2006 s First Impressions of Earth and marks the ambition of that album with the immediacy of the band s earlier albums Is This It (2001) and Room On Fire (2003). In 2010, the band returned to the road, playing and headlining major festivals in the United States and UK, including the Isle of Wight Festival, Lollapalooza, Hurricane Festival, Splendour In The Grass, Rockness, Outside Lands, and Austin City Limits. Time Out Chicago hailed the Lollapalooza performance as the best set I ve seen since covering Lollapalooza. Better than Radiohead in 2008. Better than... who headlined last year? ...The crowd...was euphoric.

Setting up a hole drilling jig to get the right angle on my stair railings. Looks like 37 degrees is what I need and this gizmo from General Tool looks like it will work just fine. I'm using the DeWalt 1/2" drill to spin a Porter-Cable 1" Forstner bit. No actual logs were harmed in the filming of this stage, thought you'd like to know that.
Shot with one sb600 in a small Photoflex soft box. Light was metered with a Sekonic L-358 using a sync cord.and fired with said cord. Light was on a boom directly above set up and angled slightly forward. Product is sitting on white plexi bent to form a sweep.

Angle of Repose (Penguin Twentieth-Century Classics)
Wallace Stegner's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel is a story of discovery -- personal, historical, and geographical. Confined to a wheelchair, retired historian Lyman Ward sets out to write his grandparents' remarkable story, chronicling their days spent carving civilization into the surface of America's western frontier. But his research reveals even more about his own life than he's willing to admit. What emerges is an enthralling portrait of four generations in the life of an American family.
Like other great quests in literature, Lyman Ward's investigation leads him deep into the dark shadows of his own life. The result is a deeply moving novel that, through the prism of one family, illuminates the American present against the fascinating background of its past.
