We are going to try a few new things for this rally.  It is our intention to keep things as simple as possible for this get together.  Because we will not have access to a kitchen, we do have a sink, cooking will be limited.  We would like your opinion regarding meals.  Here is the tentative plan:

Saturday, October 10 Most of us are scheduled to arrive.  Brittney called and said that her dad, Tim Sullivan, is bringing his band to perform Saturday night.  There are several Dallas firemen in the band.  This performance is open for anyone in the area.  There will be an hibachi food truck on site for food purchase.  Brittany says the food is really good!

Sunday, October 11 Continental breakfast will be available. Dinner:sub-sandwiches, chips, desserts

Monday  We will cook eggs, bacon and sausage, biscuits.  The park has a huge blackstone that will be available for our use.  We will cook the biscuits in several of our rigs.  If anyone wants to make gravy and hash browns in their rig or cookers that would be great.  Details will be finalized at the rally.

Dinner:  Taco bar and desserts

Tuesday: Breakfast:  breakfast casseroles, biscuits and fruit

Dinner:     hamburgers, bring your own patties

Wednesday Breakfast traditional fireman breakfast (same arrangements as Monday)

Dinner: Eat out at local restaurant

Thursday Breakfast: pancakes, sausage and bacon

Dinner: Pizza and salad (pizzas will be from local pizza restaurant)

Friday something simple for breakfast before everyone departs,

My cousin lives in Mt. Vernon and is working on several activities that we might want to do, details pending.  The ladies will have a craft project.  There will be a game night, maybe Left Right Center, Bingo or Pokeno, still working on this event.  

All of these details are still in the planning stage.  There are 14 rigs that have reservations, and there is going to be a great turnout!!!

The opinions we would like to have from each of you:  what would you think about the food for all the meals being purchased by the rally masters and everyone shares in the expense.  We will assign dessert days for everyone, one each.  Everyone will bring their own hamburger patty to cook.  For the things that need to be cooked in ovens, we will ask for volunteers for those items, and food will be provided.

It is time to make your reservations for the October Rally.  Please contact Brittney at the number above on September 1.  They have reserved 10 spaces for the rally and there is one 2-bedroom cabin and 2 fifth wheel rv’s for rent at this time. They are very accommodating and will answer any questions you may have about the park or facilities. 

Details and specific plans will be advised as we come closer to the actual date.  All of this information as well as upcoming details will be sent to you by email and also will be available on the website (https://sites.google.com/site/drffarv/).

This RV park is relatively new and his owned an operated by a retired Dallas fireman, Tim Seymour.  Fireman, Ray Seymour, is Tim’s dad.  They are excited to host the DRFF RV club.  Brittney is Tim’s daughter and our contact person.  She is very helpful and willing do anything possible to make our stay a fun experience. 

There is not a kitchen but a rally room and covered pavilion that we are welcome to use.  They have a large black stove they will provide for us to use.  Bacon and sausage can be cooked outside, several of us have induction cook tops we can use and biscuits can be cooked in our rigs.  We can do several breakfasts and make it work. 

Brittney said they have several bands that come play for the park and will arrange to have one while we are there.  More details later on that option.

Brittney is holding spots for us but asks that we not call and reserve a spot until six weeks prior to rally.  They have several rental units for those that need them.  They will also be assigned six weeks prior.  Rv sites are $60 a night or $325 a week.  Rates for rental units will be available when you reserve.

We will remind you when the time comes to call and reserve.  We will have more details to share as the time gets closer.
