I got a MSc. degree in Mining Engineering from Madrid School of Mines in 1990, and a PhD. from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 1995.
I am currently a full professor of Environmental Chemistry and Public Health at 
Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM).
I have been an occasional guest lecturer at Linköping universitet (Sweden), Högskolan i Jönköping (Sweden), and St. Louis University.
From 2007 until 2011, and from March 2017 I have been Director of UPM's Master Program in Environmental Research, Modelling and Risk Assessment (MIMARMA).
From June 2012 until July 2014 I was Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering of UPM.
Since 2008 I am the Technical Director of the Environmental Geochemistry Research and Engineering Laboratory (LI2GA).
