Measuring Your Basal Body Temperature

  1. Obtain a high quality thermometer.
  2. Place the thermometer by your bed before going to sleep at night.
  3. When you wake, place the thermometer in your armpit.  It is important to move as little as possible.  Do not stand, Do not sit. Do not roll over. Lying and resting with your eyes closed is best.
  4. After 10 minutes, read and record the temperature, time and date.
  5. Record your temperature for at least three mornings.  Take these temperatures at the same time of day.
