About Me

I am Dr. Alina Nazareth and I am a developmental scientist and user experience researcher.  Most recently, I spent 4 years at Meta Platforms, Inc. leading research initiatives for AI, video, audio, Live and several other new but yet-to-be launched products across Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.  I have worked at other big tech companies like Infosys Technologies and Wipro, Inc. designing trainings to assess and improve customer satisfaction.

Before going into industry, I worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Spatial Intelligence and Learning Center (SILC) at Temple University. During this time, I have used virtual reality to research cognitive processing of spatial information. I have experience conducting meta-analyses and have even published papers on statistical approaches to dealing with large volumes of eye-tracking data.

Under the mentorship of Dr. Shannon M. Pruden, I received my doctorate in Developmental Psychology from Florida International University  in 2015, where I conducted research at the Project on Language and Spatial Development Laboratory. During my doctoral training, my research examined the interplay of cognitive, experiential and social factors to create a more holistic picture of the development of spatial skills across the human lifespan. I have designed effective training and educational interventions to improve spatial ability, a skill linked to success in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines.
