DownPour, a bluegrass gospel group, was established in 2013.  The members of DownPour are Traci Dolen Taylor, lead and harmony vocals; Stephen Cavin, guitar and lead vocals; and Brian Watts, banjo and harmony vocals.  Although DownPour has various musical backgrounds, they have two things in common - a strong belief in God and a love for bluegrass gospel music.  Each member of DownPour started out singing and/or playing in church.  DownPour is eager to share their music with you.  Please contact Stephen Cavin for booking.

Traci Dolen Taylor started singing at the age of seventeen.  Her dad, Roy is quoted as saying that he never knew she had a voice until the Lord saved her.  Traci accepted Jesus Christ into her heart on September 22, 1991 after R.C. Barrett (Jeremy’s grandfather) helped lead her to Christ.  Traci began writing her musical story by singing in church with her dad and brother.  She is an integral part of DownPour’s signature harmony sound.  After hearing her pure, soulful and spiritual voice you will instantly feel a connection with her.  Traci plays the piano for her home church and is very active with the youth choir.  She is a graduate of Milligan College with a B.S. in Business Administration.  Traci is married and enjoys traveling and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Stephen Cavin’s musical roots began at age two when he would accompany his dad, Gary as he sang in church.   At age six, he picked up his first guitar.  Stephen later added the banjo to his musical repertoire.   He incorporates interesting runs and unique patterns in his guitar playing.  He has been blessed with a soulful and passionate lead vocal.   Within seconds of hearing Stephen’s voice, the listener senses his personal relationship with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.   Stephen accepted Jesus Christ into his heart and soul on March 18, 1992.   He leads singing at his home church and works with the youth choir.   He graduated East Tennessee State University and played banjo in the ETSU Bluegrass band.  He is married with two children and lives in the Fall Branch area of East Tennessee.  In his spare time, he enjoys fishing and UT football.

Brian Watts started playing banjo at age eighteen. He was able to sharpen his banjo skills as he played for his dad, Richard and mom, Donna as they sang in church. Brian was saved in December 1985. Brian never considered himself a singer until he started attending Gospel Mission Church. Brother Roy Dolen (Traci’s dad) kept encouraging him to sing and eventually became his singing mentor teaching him the finer points of harmony and tenor vocals. Brian is also an experienced guitar player and works with the youth choir at his home church. He is married with one son and enjoys fishing.
