Combined Events

In the ESAA 2016 Finals at Exeter (see file attached) Ryan Long was best performer in Discus and Pole Vault and set a PB in the 400m.  He finished 3rd. (out of 24) in the Senior Boys (u20) Decathlon with a good score of 6388 points.

At the same meeting Cameron Hale competed in the Inter Boys (u17) Octathlon.   He finished runner-up (out of 41) with a PB total of 5030 points.  In so doing he achieved PBs in five of his events, being the best performer in Javelin.    Update 11/12/16.  Cameron was selected to represent England Inter. Boys in the SIAB (Schools' ) Combined Events International at the AIT International (Indoor) Arena, Athlone, Ireland on December 10th. 2016.   This was worth congratulations.   In the Pentathlon event, he placed 14th. (out of 16), achieving PBs in 200m. (24.44), 800m. (2-28.53), 60H (8.90) and SP (14.38m. and best performer).   In his fifth event he was near his best with 6.01m. in the LJ.   His final total was another PB of 3104 points.  Well done ! 

There were three u17W from local clubs competing in the Heptathlon, namely Bethan Burley, Olivia Galloway and Iona Sheerin.   Of these Bethan did best coming 6th. (out of 42) with 4646 points.     Their performances are listed on the file.

EA Indoor u20 Heptathlon 2017.   (At EIS Sheffield on January 7/8.)
In this major competition, Ryan Long (Poole AC) set two PBs (in being highest ranked in the 60H, and in his 1000m.) and another in finishing 7th. overall (out of 19).   His performances were:- 60m. 7.36: LJ 6.49m.: Shot 10.80m.: PV 3.76m.: 60H. 8.44: HJ 1.78m.: and 1000m. 3-01.2.   His final total was 4676 points.    He has another year in this age-group.  Well done !
