E Book Club with Mrs. Altham

posted Jul 7, 2013, 1:22 PM by Corinne Altham
This summer Mrs. Altham will lead a summer book club using Edmodo, a secure learning environment and social network for students. Edmodo is similar to Facebook in many ways, but much more secure. It's an excellent tool for teaching young people how to have a digital voice while protecting personal information and practicing netiquette (online manners). This summer we are reading Gordon Korman's new book Ungifted which is nominated for the Maine Student Book Award program. If you would like your child to participate, visit the Summer Reading page on www.mrsaltham.com for more information. Research shows that summer regress can be avoided by reading six books or more during the vacation. An e book club goes one step further to provide an engaging, asynchronous learning environment where students can share ideas, ask questions and have fun with this very funny and brand-new novel.
