Hi, I'm Quoc Cuong Do, welcome to my homepage!

Research interest

Professional objectives

As a researcher in the field of environmental chemical engineering, I am pursuing a dynamic research position in materials science and engineering, specializing in environmental remediation and energy applications. My expertise encompasses physicochemical processes crucial for water and wastewater treatment, such as sorption, degradation, and membrane separation, as well as clean hydrogen production through ammonia decomposition. My research interests extend to emerging contaminants, focusing on their fate, transport, and treatment, along with the conversion of waste into valuable resources. I am excited to bring my dedication and diligence to an innovative research or educational institution. I aim to deepen my knowledge and make meaningful contributions to the scientific community, advance sustainable energy practices, and improve both environmental and human health.

Brief bio

I received my B. Eng. degree in Environmental Engineering from the School of Environmental Science and Engineering at Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), Vietnam, in 2010. I then worked as an Assistant Researcher for the Environmental Management Leader (EML) Program (Hanoi office), Kyoto University. In 2013, I moved to South Korea to pursue postgraduate studies at the Department of Civil Engineering, Kyung Hee University (KHU). During my time there, I focused on the development of innovative nanomaterials designed to effectively remove diverse pollutants from water environments. After completing my Ph.D. in February 2019, I further developed my research expertise in  the areas of water remediation and hydrogen production through my postdoctoral positions at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT), respectively. Since January 2024, I have been part of the Department of Environmental Geosciences (EDGE) at the University of Vienna as a postdoctoral researcher. Currently, my work is centered on developing innovative remediation strategies for Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) contaminated sites.
