Bringing a Common Sense Approach to Raleigh

"There will be a Nurse in the House!"

Thank you for visiting my website. I have decided to file for the District 26 seat of the NC House of Representatives (portions of Johnston County) because I believe that my experience as a nurse, community leader on many county/town boards over the last 20 years and currently serving as an elected member to the Johnston County Board of Education have prepared me with the skills that I need to represent the taxpayers of Johnston County. I am cool under pressure, and I know how to assess an issue and develop a plan of action.

The Board of Education is the largest employer and has the largest publicly-funded budget in the county. I have been the Chairman of the Finance Committee since 2008. Johnston County schools is the second fastest growing school system in the state and through a plan to work and collaborate with our county commissioners our system has opened two new high schools, a new middle school, and added additions to two schools and built a competition gym during the recent recession. Only through collaboration could this have been possible. When I go to Raleigh I will take the assessment skills of a nurse, the commitment to the community of Johnston County, and the experience of collaboration to the House.

Primary Issues

  • I believe in open and transparent government and the wise use of taxpayer money
  • I believe that each citizen of North Carolina should have a voice in their government
  • I believe that we have a great State, and by open communication, input from our citizens, collaboration and inclusion of all, we can be even greater.

How you can help!

In addition to financial support, volunteers are needed to host fundraisers and "Meet and Greets", post yard signs, canvas neighborhoods, work booths and tables at various festivals and events, and help spread my name around the district. Please email me if you are interested in supporting the campaign in any of these ways!
