We are proud to be your local source for pasture-raised, heritage pork, poultry, and eggs. Our animals are raised outside in the fresh air and sunshine, without antibiotics, or added growth hormones. We even put in the extra work to keep our own breeding flocks and groups of our heritage breed livestock. Breeding and hatching our own means each of our animals are raised with our high standards of care, starting on day one.

Know your farmers, know your food.

Hello! We are Amanda and Joe Jones, the farmers behind Doko Farm.

We moved back to revitalized Joe's family farm in autumn of 2007. The following spring we planted our garden, and welcomed our first flock of chicks to the farm.  We have been putting down roots in our little piece of South Carolina ever since. 

Before we started Doko Farm we had careers in the sciences discovering new species, exploring ocean environments, and working to conserve endangered species. These days, Joe has a 9-5 job at the University of South Carolina, that keeps him busy, when he is not helping at the farm. Amanda runs the farm full time, and you can also find her at our local farmers markets.

We continue to use our backgrounds in science and sustainability to farm regeneratively and steward the land for future generations. Working with endangered species led us to continue our conservation work with heritage breed livestock. In this way, we are increasing diversity in our food system and returning flavor to our collective table. 

When not farming, we enjoy spending time with our family, camping, foraging, and working on our project vehicles (Amanda has a 1970 VW bus and Joe is making room in the garage for project of his own... stay tuned for more).
