Teddy's Alter Ego, Bubba-D

Where the Coolest Cat Ever Resides Forever

Teddy Bear, The Cat, lived for over 24 years, was the most companionable, talkative, congenital, and complex character in the feline Tom Cat world.

Always Toms, even when neutered, of course, Male cats are always rad, as are females, and every one is a study in beauty and grace, but the life story of Teddy, whose rap name was Bubba-D, is interesting indeed.

He moonlit as the rap star, Bubba-D, and that stands for Bubba DeLux, for he was not only delux in size, but in personality, and he was a true Bubba, not only to his siblings and to all of us, but just a great home boy in general.

During his lifetime, he was pals with major stars, even including Johnny Carson, a neighbor of his, with whom he's visit and get culinary tid-bits that he was forbidden at home.

Had Mr. Carson still been doing his show, no doubt Teddy - aka, Bubba-D, would have performed, gangsta style.

He had so many personae that we'll have to go into detail as we go along on our journey to find out just who Bubba-D, (and Teddy), really were.

Who am I? or rather, Who was He?

This sort of groping to find identity is never part of the lives of the truly great, including, of course, Teddy, aka Bubba-D.

The self-confidence and the sense of purpose, the ease with which those who are bestowed upon the rest of us as the Greats allow them to sail through life and to accomplish their destinies, leading all into greater planes of awareness.

Teddy blessed all those who were lucky enough to know him.

As any great showbiz personality, Teddy lives in Malibu and comported with other show business luminaries, like Johnny Carson, neighbor and pal, who would often share culinary delicables with Teddy, who was otherwise cautioned by his celebrity doctor not to so indulge.

As we explore the many personae and facets of this amazing cat's life, more and more we understand how truly complex was this cat who, on the one hand, was the epitomy of the name, Bubba, a sweet homeboy and friend to many, family member, and even brother to the end, and on the other, the legendary Bubba-D, rap star, and many other personae as we will explore in these pages.

Living in Malibu, California, home of the stars, of course, Teddy - Bubba-D, and the D stands for, as we all know, DeLux, since Teddy was not only delux in size and in intelligence, but also was larger-than-life in his personality and in the range of his companions - all of whom swear to this day he understood them better than anyone else in their lives - Teddy, living the life of celebrities, on the beach, traveling to and fro in limos and enjoying just hanging out and visiting, was someone who'd always been there for his pals and family.

His gangsta image might point to an urban background, and even one in the projects, and don't let his later addresses in Malibu fool you - he might not have been from the urban ghetto, but sources we've found have led us to another sort of humble beginning in the countryside.

Yes, in our exclusive bio of this popular rap star, we've uncovered the fact that Teddy Bear, the most beloved of all celebrities worldwide, was actually born in Simi Valley, undercircumstances that might make an Appalatian shudder.

Obviously uncomfortable with references to his origins, Teddy often dodged in his charming fashion, references to this area, not because of false pride, but because he'd lost his closest brother around the time they'd both ventured forth to make a life for themselves.

Turbot, his main bro and partner in kitty crimes, so-to-speak, had died rather young, victim to a prowling coyotes, we're told, one night while he and Teddy were catting around after a hot chick in the woods, and Teddy'd fought heroically to save him, but to no avail...

After this tragedy, and after haing lost yet another close companion in the same way, or some say, it was to a looming hawk, Teddy began taking his sorrow to another area, and found a person who'd love him enough to let him live inside, safe from the perdators and to live a long, long happy life.

So, even after fame had found his talent, our Teddy ever had a few emotional scars tenderness could not erase.

And then there were his prize-fighting days, when he'd vanquish even bigger Toms, and all the other usual female troubles cool cats have to endure.

Always a real hottie, Teddy often had to fend off not only the overwhelming attentions of cat chicks, but he'd have to deal with the ensuing Baby Mama complexes as do so many of the hapless males on Maury Povitch every day.

And yet, Teddy, true to his heroic self, woudl always step up to the plate, and on one occasion was seen literally having to gingerly step through an ocean of little ones he'd helped to create, doing double-duty as Baby Sitter and Single Parent.

He was such a good baby Daddy, that his son, Beau, and his gorgeous daughter, Bunny, lives on today, secure in his legacy and not at all spoiled, like so many star kids are, by having been the son and daughter of the most major rap star in Hollywood.

His other kittens have gone on to lead diverse lives, when we've been able to track them down, to follow their tales, uh-hum, tails, so to speak, and yet several have fallen victim to the spoils of a rough life, and some have run away, and others been adopted by people on the wrong sides of the tracks - a few have had tragic ends, and we'll follow his family stories as we go along.

Many were not lucky enough to have people around caring enough to make sure they got neutered, as Teddy's Soulmate person had, once he'd sought out a real home.

So, during his early catting around days, he'd fathered rather too many kittens, and, as any hot young guy, been chased around by really hot little Kitty girls.

Too irresponsible to control themselves, and too unlucky to be with people at all - as in the most tragic, the runaways - or with people who'd love them enough to make sure they were neutered, these tragic females would get pregnant sometimes several times a year, and although most male cat Daddies might even harm their own offpsring and those of other males, Teddy, being ever-valient, ever-cool and ever-loving, actually helped his ladies take care of their babies.

And did he care what the other rap cats were saying about him being pussy-whipped? Never!

Man enough to think for himself, he was confidant in his own masculinity and ,although never arrogant, Teddy well knew who he was.

Gallant while at the same time hip, Bubba-D was more than a hero - he was unique in CatDom.

Saint, sinner, and charismatic leader…

He was something of a dog in his younger days..

But even st. Augustine was a dog in his own wild youth.

A lover AND a fighter, sometimes even he - such a huge Tom, well-built and massive and a tough fighter, would meet his match and on one occasion was courting a lady desired by an even larger Tom, named Leo, and Teddy suffered such injuries that he had to go to the hospital!

Called by one reviewer "the Clark Gable of Catdom", he was both gentlemanly and tough. Although he's been compared with Brad Pitt and with George Clooney, one has to go back to the Golden Days of Hollywood and to the King of Hollywood, Gable, to understand Teddy's appeal.

To be both tough and dashingly handsome is a real feat, and one only accomplished so far by Gable and, of course, by Teddy.

And since Teddy is known as the King of Cats and the Dog of Cats already, why not the King of Rap and the King of Hearts too?
