doctor excuses for school 134/365 - Me :)
134/365 - Me :)
So I decided to do the thirteen things again for Flickr Roulette :) I find doing the thirteen things allows for people to know me....I like that :) 1) I have been in school for 7 years. I have my Bachelor of Arts Degree (major in History minor in English). That took 5 years and to me is one of the highlights of my life. When I graduate in July with my Bachelor of Education I will be VERY proud of myself. I've managed to survive through the stress of everything - and to a lot of people's shock I've managed to make it through with no student loans or debt :). 2) I wish I was more organized - I'm HORRIBLE!!! You should see my desk most of the time when its not cleaned...I like to call it organized chaos but I really do need to get more organized. Right now I attribute it to the fact that we live in this itty bitty basement suite and we have a lot of stuff...but *sigh* thats a pretty pathetic excuse lol. 3) I have a very rare disease that won't kill me but causes quite a few problems. I was told in August that having children will be "very unwise and VERY dangerous" by one of the top doctors in Vancouver (I'm from Kelowna). I am fortunate to have the top doctors, however, would you like getting a phone call from your doctor and the first thing he says to you is that you're "internationally known" ...mmmm not really. No one has answers and its frustrating...however, I'm slowly beginning to come to grips with everything and slowly beginning to accept that things in my life will never be easy, and I'm ok with that. 4) and to kind of contradict the last statement about accepting things in life lol I've looked into the act of adopting and *shakes head* I find it disappointing. On the OTHER hand I understand why they do the home visits, character references, financial check etc. because every child deserves the best he/she can have...so I do understand. I just don't agree that I (who would make a very good parent) is going to be watched like a hawk whereas the crack whore down the street can spread her legs and get pregnant (sorry excuse the language...its just very frustrating). 5) I am a quotes and poem kind of person :) My favorite quote at this time is "Do what you have to do in order to do what you want to do" :) I'm trying to keep that in mind for my practicum. I have to stop digging in my heels and do it other peoples way, I still find it stupid though if I know one way works fine for me...but *holds up hands* ok I'll jump these hurdles :). 6) I'm a homebody! I don't enjoy going out to the clubs (I find them to be meat markets anyways) and getting drunk. I would much rather either a) invite close friends over to watch movies or b) go out to a pub with close friends where we can eat and talk. 7) New Years Day is a hard day for me. My best friend died 11 years ago in a drinking driving accident. As a result if I'm driving I will not TOUCH alcohol - not even a sip, I find it to be disrespectful to her if I did. I realize that some people would be floored to hear that *Shrugs* because I have been told that one drink or a sip won't make a difference - but I refuse. I'm also VERY against people who drink a lot and drive home...and if you have done it you have absolutely NO RIGHT to endgager myself or other people on the road...because the sad fact is that people who drive drunk are never the ones who are killed or injured.... (Sorry this is a very depressing 13 things lol but I want you to know who I am!) 8) I've been reading this "Goals" book - I don't have the title right in front of me so I can't tell you what exactly its called. Its actually a really good book - it tells you to write down exactly what you want etc. its all about positive thinking :) And I'm always told by people if you throw what you want into the universe it will come back to you in some form - so ok I'm throwing! I'm throwing! ;) 9) I LOVE NAPS!!!! 10) I think peas are disgusting lol I cannot stand peas. I remember when I was little I was sitting beside my uncle at a dinner and he left to get something and I stuffed my peas under his mashed potatoes *Shakes head* lol it was funny though! 11) My thumb ring was my grandfathers wedding band. I NEVER take it off (unless I have to for a medical test). I received my grandmothers engagement and wedding band as well when she passed, however she was 4'11' and her fingers were TINY (the rings don't even fit on my pinkie lol). I wanted to get them resized but was told if I did the entire ring would break. So right now her rings are in my jewlery box. 12) I always make New Years resolutions - and always break them too. This year though I'm going to write it down and put it on my wall in front of my desk so I'm constantly reminded of what I promised myself :) 13) I realize due to everything I've gone through in my 25 years that I have come out a much better and stronger person because of it - and for that I am greatful!
Who's your doctor?
Who's your doctor?
An author's widow made a gift It gave the med school quite a lift. Though some contend that's no excuse They named the school for Dr. Seuss. (Hanover, NH, Oct. 2012)
