Short bio

Daeki Cho is a researcher at System Research (SR) department in NEC Laboratory America, Princeton since May 2016. He is developing a new feature in the next generation log analysis (NGLA) project using big data storage and analysis framework such as Spark and Elasticsearch. While he is working on the big data related project at NEC Lab, his research interests also include location-sensing technologies, user behavior monitoring, and distributed systems for mobile/ubiquitous computing. From July 2011 to Oct 2014, he was a software engineer at Samsung SDS Research in Seoul, Korea (as part of the Korean military service). Since then, he spent about a year at Princeton University as a postdoctoral research associate in the department of computer science. Before joining NEC Lab, he worked for Amazon for four months to enhance the Ads relevance for Amazon Marketing Service (AMS) Ads Product. He received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in computer science from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2006, 2008, and 2011, respectively.
