Biography

Statistician,economist and promoter of marketing as a scentific discipline and a lecturer in statistics at the University of Pisa,Macerata,Parma and Rome, Guglielmo Tagliacarne eas also the Secretary General of the Milan Chamber of Commerce, the head of economic services at the General Commerce Confederation, director of the italian Union of Chambers of Commerce, director of the Scuola di Sviluppo Economico (Italian school of economic development) and president of AISM (the italian association for market research) set up in 1954 togheter with Iosif Constantin Dragan who acted as vice-president.Guglielmo Tagliacarne gives his name to a research and training foundation of the Italian Union of Chambers of Commerce - the Guglielmo Tagliacarne Institute - in addition to the most important recognition in Italy for those who distinguish themselves particularly in the spread and application of marketing, the Tagliacarne Prize awarded by AISM. Guglielmo Tagliacarne was the director of the periodicals Sintesi economica, Studi di Mercato, and Calcolo annuale del reddito per provinvie e regioni. His pubblications include Demografia dell'India, Tecnica e Pratica delle ricerche di mercato,and Variazioni territoriali dello stato economico tra il 1938 e il 1952 in italia e in altri paesi.
