  • Education Council Information Session at Brooklyn Borough Hall, Tuesday, January 22,  6 PM.  Click here 


  • CEC 22 meetings currently meet the first Thursday of the month, Business meeting at 6:30 PM (For Council business) and the Calendar Meeting at 7:00 PM (Public comments are encouraged) Please note that day/times may be changed any time as per a bylaws revision vote by CEC members. If you wish to attend an upcoming CEC 22 meeting, please email CEC22@schools.nyc.gov for information.

    • Once applications are submitted and candidates are vetted by the Office of Family and Community Empowerment (FACE),  a CEC 22 candidate forum will take place on Thursday, April 11, 2019, 6 PM at P.S./I.S. 109, 1001 East 45th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11203. Candidates for the CEC will be permitted to make presentations to the selectors and other parents and interested parties. 

    • Selections by PA/PTA President, Recording Secretary and Treasurer will take place from May 2 to May 14.

    • Election Results will be announced May 21. 

    • Orientations for the elected/appointed CEC members should take place sometime in the summer (June/July). Childcare and travel expenses related to CEC are reimbursed with receipts to CEC members. Complete details on reimbursements, roles, responsibilities and regulations will be provided to members at their orientation meeting. 

    • All CECs have an administrative assistant (a paid DOE employee) to help facilitate with meetings and assist the council with their duties.
