April 18th is the annual awards ceremony beginning around 7pm. Awards and scholarships will be given out this night by many different organizations.

Pryor to the awards ceremony we will have a parent's meeting at 6:30pm to elect new officers.

We had nominations for all positions on March 21st in which not many parents showed up which is disappointing.

Nominations are as follows,

President, Michelle Brockman

Vice President, Wendy Koblas

Treasurer, Thomas Koeckritz

Secretary, Diana Noga

If you or a family members are interested in running for any of these positions you will have to do it from the floor.

We will ask Pryor to elections if any parent's are interested in running for any positions per Roberts Rules.

If any parent's or family members run from the floor then we will have a written ballot for each position that has 2 or more candidates.

I'm hoping that we have a better parents turn out than at the previous meeting. It is important that parent's get involved in the unit remember these are your Cadets and your Children.

I want to thank the parents that stepped up to the plate to keep the board and parents association going, and would like to thank all the parents who helped out the board and I each Wednesday serving Chow and helping out at Chicago Land and other events you all know who you are and we as board members really do appreciate your help.

We just wished that more parents got involved to watch your Cadets grow throughout the year it has been an amazing transition from the start of the year to where they are today.

Thank you.

ED Kuhl

President

Useful information about PIZZA ACCOUNTS

A Cadet's pizza account is DIFFERENT for the cadet accounts that are managed by Commander Morse and Gunnery Sergeant Collins.

The Parents Association organizes and serves pizza during Chow on Wednesday evenings to cadets attending evening class.  Typically, chow (dinner) is from 18:30 19:00 (6:30 - 7:00 p.m.) in the Wheeling High School cafeteria.  A cadet may bring food from home or may purchase pizza, however, microwaves and refrigerators are not provided.

Cadets may opt to purchase a large slice of pizza (choice of cheese, pepperoni or sausage) and a bottle of water for $2.00.  If seconds are available, "seconds" will be called and are served on a first come-first serve basis for $2.00 per slice.

Payment can be handled one of two ways:

1.    Cadets may put money "on account" and the parent association will have the cadet sign in on a sheet for pizza, deducting the $2.00 from the account if a slice if purchased; or

2.    Cadets may pay money as they go and bring cash each week.  If the cadet pays cash s/he should NOT sign in for pizza.

If your child is short of funds, the Parent Association will show a debit in their "pizza account" and the cadet will be allowed to eat, but must pay for the previous week's meal the following week.  Cadets should check their balance to makes sure they are not in arrears.

Cadets with balances over -$2.00 will not be allowed to sign in for pizza - and must pay cash for pizza.

If there is a financial issue preventing the cadet from paying for his or her pizza they should see Master Sgt Galarza to discuss the situation.
