Avocado Buttermilk Ranch Dressing

1 Avocado, peeled and coarsely chopped
1/3 c sour cream
1/2 c mayonnaise 
1 c buttermilk
1-2 cloves garlic
3 T freshly chopped chives
2 T chopped Italian parsley leaves
2 T t dried dill
1 t salt, divided
1 t freshly cracked black pepper
1 T white vinegar
f1/4 t. freshly ground pepper
salt to taste (the buttermilk adds some)

Whisk together the first three ingredients. Chop garlic finely.  Take 1/2 of the salt (Kosher works best) and sprinkle on the garlic.  Using side of knife, mash garlic until paste forms.  Add in the rest of ingredients and mix well.
