Apple Crisp

4-5 Granny Smith apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1/3 c. sugar 
1 t. cinnamon
2 T. butter, sliced thin

Preheat oven to 350º.  Mix together sugar and cinnamon.In sprayed  pie pan or 9 x 9 square dish, layer apples and then sprinkle with
 sugar and cinnamon mixture.  Dot with butter slices.  Bake at 350 for 15 minutes.  Make topping.

1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup  all-purpose flour
2/3 cup  old-fashioned oats
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg 

Topping Instructions:
In medium bowl, mix together topping ingredients.  Sprinkle evenly over apple mixture.  Bake an additional 20 minutes or until topping is browned and crumbly.
