Favorite Holes

The top of the chart, down to the blue line are my favorites of the holes that I’ve played.  They generally in order of my preference from the top down for about the first 10, but the rest aren’t necessarily in a particular order because I can’t be that specific in my ranking.

Then the rest of the holes are based on other people’s recommendations, and they’re holes I haven’t played yet.  These are sorted alphabetically by State then City.

Beautiful view of the lake on the right and surrounding foothills.  You tee off on top of a steep, steep hill.  With the basket in the long position, the drive is a long open shot with an 82 ft elevation drop to a green next to a stream.  “One of the best holes in VA and maybe the most fun single shot in VA.” John Biscoe

From the Blue tees the longest arms might risk a 400 ft drive, all over water, to the basket, but mere mortals will drive straight and hope to avoid the lake all on the left side.  Then a long second shot over more water from a finger of the lake.  This is a classic finishing hole!

An elevation drop of 30-40 feet down to a peninsula with the beautiful Prompton Lake as a backdrop. If you want to reach the basket you'll have to flirt with the water. If your disc flattens a hair too long then you're wet.  Incredibly beautiful, nice risk vs. reward.

Blue tee.  Significant elevation drop the whole way.  A long but safe 425' drive is needed to reach the landing zone, which is bordered by an OB road on the left.  Then you throw another long crush to a basket situated just in front of the lake.  An awesome view of Lake Arthur and the Rt. 422 bridge crossing.

It starts out through a gap that is about 15 ft. in diameter.  Once through the gap you have to keep it tight and straight; a kick to the left puts you in heavy shule that lines the fairway all the way to the basket. You end up with an 80 to 150 foot upshot, up a rise to a basket that is flanked on two sides with severe drop-offs. Throwing a disc that nestles itself near the polehole without flying over the back or side into the bayou or drainage ditch is exceedingly challenging.

EXTINCT   "The Island Hole" OB everywhere.  First island is down an 80ft drop in elevation to an island 300ft away. The next island is 400ft from the pin. The basket is on a roped off 30ft circle that is on the other side of a creek. A good chance at an eagle for the accurate long arm. However failure to land in bounds results in a re-tee.
