Hdparm is a Linux native command line tool for changing hard disk drive Advanced Power Management settings (HDD APM). It is particularly useful when you need to prevent frequent parking of disk drive head and reduce increase of Load/Unload cycle count attribute in S.M.A.R.T. Drive head parking became notorious in many user forums and discussions over the Internet with the annoying clicking or a.k.a ticking noise produced when drive head unloads to the parking zone.

The new version is compatible with Windows 7, 8, XP, Vista and 2000 (both 32bit and 64bit editions)
