Dirk Vogel, M.A.

Based in Venice, CA, I'm a journalist, book author and translator for a variety of international clients.
My work has given me the opportunity to travel extensively and connect with people and cultures across the globe.

I'm passionate about skateboarding and have been an active part of skateboard culture since 1988. Working for international skateboarding magazines, including an editor position at Kingpin Magazine, has given me the chance to form extensive connections in the skateboard industry.

I also specialize in cultural adaptation/localization of content for English-speaking and German audiences. Some career highlights so far include working as a German localization editor on video games, card games and animated cartoons at The Pokémon Company International in Bellevue, WA. And also working at Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) in Seattle on the launch of the KDP platform in Germany.

In January 2009, my first book, Made For Skate: The Illustrated History of Skateboard Footwear, was released by Gingko Press.
