The interactive or participatory web (as opposed to Web 1.0, an earlier web experience that mirrored the passive audiences of mass and broadcast media and consisted mostly of static websites and content delivery). Web 2.0 is comprised of a set of communication and media services that make user-generated and -distributed content a central part of the internet experience.
