After undertaking a postdoctoral position with Professor Pher G. Andersson at Uppsala University (1997-1999) working on asymmetric catalysis, he moved back to Alicante University as a Senior Scientist (1999) and Ramón y Cajal researcher (2001). In 2003, he began as Associate Professor his independent career at Alicante University where he served as Department Chair from 2013 to 2017.
