The Path of the Wind

I have listened to the wind so many times
Wondering where it hides when I’m sleeping
But how can I be at peace when it’s a secret
Even an enigma like a ghost in a mirror
With wings and sounds and wonder

It comes and it goes, around and around
Dancing like angels at dawn
Like snowflakes in winter, glistening
For only a moment, giving moisture
To the tall and the small

It takes the seeds to every flower
And brings breath to the desert
Where the barren lay thirsty
Staggering and weak, like a bent reed
Without hope to survive

I wish this wind would take a new path
And give me strength to be like Moses
Lord; help me climb this mountain
As I struggle with my stubborn way
Guide me; teach me, this I pray, today.

Three minutes of uninterrupted bliss! What could be more blissful than the gently crashing waves of Poipu Beach, Kauai accompanied with the gentle song "I Am Hawaii."
