Current Event

Television current events are assignments designed to make you, as a potential future journalist, aware of what is going on in the world. The current event summary is due each 9 week grading period on an assigned date, to be determined by the teacher.  The date of the article used should be within within a month of the assigned due date  and obtained from a reliable news source.  Articles must be at least 3 paragraphs long.
Print the attached current event sheet. Articles should be attached.  They are due at the beginning of class on the assigned day.

Television current events cover many beats from political to entertainment and sports---current issues to human interest.  The key element is they MUST be current.  Broadcast news in NOW.

FYI: One paragraph does not equal an article!  Blogs and gossip journals are not reliable news sources.  Obituaries will not be accepted unless the death directly affects the world of media.
