In 2014, Rajans scouts broke the existing record at that time on the longest distance traveled by Sri Lankans in the Himalaya Mountain Range reaching Mount Kala Patthar (at 5,550m) through the Gokyo lake (via Chola mountain pass). DAANA was a strong supporter of this achievement.
Year 2014 Himalayan Expedition of Rajans Scouts
This time, Rajans scouts are hoping to rewrite history again by reaching “Island Peak” of Himalayas as the first team to reach the Highest Altitude ever reached by a Sri Lankan team and set a new record!
This Himalayan expedition is organized in order to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of Rajans’ Himalayan Expedition and the life and contributions of late Mr. Ajith Jayasekara. He was the pioneer of the Sri Lankan Himalayan exploration feat, and a great Rajan who rendered a massive service to the scout movement in Sri Lanka.
As Rajans, It is our pride to know that the Dharmaraja Scout Group has been recorded in history as the most renowned scout group in Sri Lanka who explored the Himalayan mountain range a number of times. This expedition will strengthen the name of our beloved alma mater nationally and internationally.
To make this exceptional adventure a success, Rajans scouts are hoping for the generous support of DANNA this time as well. The total estimated cost for this expedition is around Rs.3,500,000. Please find the attached project proposal and check https://www.facebook.com/rajansendeavour/ for more details. Even a small contribution from you will be a great support for this event.
If you would like to be a part of this adventure by contributing to this history-making event, please do so by making your donations online or by sending a check payable to DAANA (Dharmaraja Alumni Association of North America) to the address given below, on or before 21-March-2016.
