Dear Member,

The Dharmaraja Alumni Association in North America (DAANA) expresses warm congratulations to the 34th Inspector General of Police (IGP), the first Rajan to be the IGP, Mr. Pujith Senadhi Bandara Jayasundara.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundara is a reputed Rajan, and received his Management B.Com (Special Degree) from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Later, joining the Sri Lanka Police, he began his career as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in the Crimes and Operations Unit in Anuradhapura in 1986. Committed to building safe communities and enhancing trust between people and the Sri Lanka Police Forces, IGP Pujith Jayasundara received wide recognition and commendation for the outstanding services rendered to the Sri Lanka Police throughout his career.

IGP Pujith Jayasundara recently visited USA to attend the United Nations Chiefs of Police Summit held in New York. During his visit he participated in an alms giving organized by the New York Chapter of DAANA at the New York Buddhist Temple where he received the blessings of the chief incumbent. In addition, he participated in a gathering of past pupilof Dharmaraja College and their family members. A plaque was awarded to congratulate the IGP on behalf of DAANA.

As the Dharmaraja Alumni Association in North America (DAANA), we wish IGP Pujith Jayasundara all the strength and wisdom to deliver what he envisions.

We would like to thank Geeth Uyanwatte for going out of his way to coordinate both DAANA and IGPs participation in both alms-giving ceremony and the dinner. Also a sincere thanks goes to Wimal for hosting the IGP and DAANA NY Chapter members and their families with a short notice. Finally we appreciate the participation of all the member families, though the next day was a school/working day.
