If your child is sick or is going to be absent from school for any reason, please call the school on the day of the absence (or before) to let us know. This tells us that your child is safe at home or that you know where he/she is. You may call the school at 476-7110 or send an email to email@example.com.
Daily Dismissal Procedures
All students are asked to exit the building using the main doors near the office. School is dismissed at 3:10 p.m. for students that are walking, riding a bike, or being picked up by a parent/guardian or their designee. If you are entering the building to pick up a child, please use the main doors near the office and wait in the office area until 3:10 p.m. At 3:10, students will meet parents/guardians near the office. Thank you for assisting in D-G's efforts to keep our students safe while learning responsibility and gaining independence.
Contacting Your Child's Teacher
Email is one of the most effective ways to keep in touch with your child's teacher. While a teacher may be able to accept some phone calls during the school day, we do not have telephones in each classroom and the teachers cannot leave their class unsupervised in order to take a call. We strongly encourage communication via email and in-person meetings when warranted. For a directory of staff email addresses, just click on the Staff Directory link in the "Communication Tools" pull-down menu at the top of the screen. Also, parents are asked to make sure the office has one or more current email addresses on file so that teachers are able to contact you via email.
