Nathan Cole (Youth Pastor/青少年牧師)

Nathan Cole is a thinker, writer, speaker, and activist. He has participated in various humanitarian initiatives, both domestically and overseas, and he desires to make a significant contribution to the world around him. His missions work has taken him to Mexico, Ghana, Zimbabwe, the Dominican Republic, and (hopefully very soon) Nicaragua.

Nathan is a minister at Embassy Covenant Church International, located in Troy, Michigan, under the leadership of Bishop Hugh Daniel Smith and his wife, Pastor Letha Smith. Nathan currently serves the church as the leader of the Human Dignity Department, which exists to promote the basic dignity of humanity by engaging in humanitarian outreach and addressing societal issues around the world.

In addition to his ministry work, Nathan is the Freedom Coalition Coordinator for the Michigan Abolitionist Project (MAP), an anti-human trafficking organization. He actively brings together experienced advocates in southeast Michigan to address issues related to human trafficking, and he is particularly focused on efforts designed to reduce the demand for commercial sexual exploitation.

He is also the author of two books: Exiting the Maze, which chronicles his own theological and psychological journey from the torments of obsessive-compulsive disorder to faith and freedom in Christ Jesus, and Cycle Breakers, which inspires readers to interrupt the status quo, break destructive cyclical patterns, and live with unprecedented purpose.

Nathan received his Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from the University of Michigan in 2011, with a particular emphasis on international development and human rights. He minored in Afroamerican and African Studies. He currently lives in Troy, Michigan.

Pastor Pan

I was born in Fujian Province of China. Although I am from a Christian family,  I always thought religious belief as superstition. It was not until 2002 when I was a college student that I repented and believed in the Lord. In 2005, after graduated from college, I was called by the Lord to join full time service in Campus. I married to my wife Eunice We in 2007, and we have 2 lovely daughters Iscah Pan and Monicah Pan. I was graduated from LOGOS Evangelical Seminary near Los Angeles at the end of 2016. Our expectation is: May I and my household serve the LORD together as a family, fishing for people of the Lord, and helping them to become good soldier of Christ Jesus.

PastorBrent

Brent & Beth (Former Youth Pastor/青少年牧師)

I was born in 1983 in Georgia, while my parents were attending Toccoa Falls College. I grew up as a pastor’s son, and spent the majority of my childhood in Ohio. (And yes, I am a die hard Ohio State Buckeyes fan.) I enjoy doing anything outdoors: camping, hiking, backpacking, rafting, climbing, or spelunking, but my true passion is playing basketball. After becoming a Christian as a young child, I knew God was calling me into some type of full-time ministry. As God continued to work on my heart and call me into full-time ministry throughout high school, I began to pursue missions and with direction in mind headed to Toccoa Falls College (C&MA) in Georgia. That is where I met my wife Beth, and we both graduated from there in 2005. I graduated with a degree in Cross-Cultural Studies and a minor in youth ministry. Beth graduated with a degree in Public Relations and minors in youth ministry and missions. Beth and my relationship grew from friendship into dating and then marriage as we discovered each other’s passion for ministering to youth that God revealed to both of us individually while seeking His direction for our lives in college. We ministered together through college in a project house ministry to teenagers by having small group Bible studies with them and playing basketball. We were married right after graduating on June 18, 2005 in Lancaster, PA. We stayed in Lancaster for the next year helping with the youth group in the Alliance church there until God called us to Metro Detroit Chinese Alliance Church. I came on staff here as youth pastor the end of June 2006, and Beth and I have greatly enjoyed ministering here since then.
