09_Final - Due 5/2 and 5/9

    PROJECT REQUIREMENTS
  • The Final assignment consists of 2 parts - 1. In class critique on 5/2 and 2. Jacobs Design Showcase on 5/9.
  • Design a show that's 3-5 min long
  • The format of the show can be a demo, a performance, a VJ, or a talk.
  • Try to incorporate everything you have learned about Processing and Arduino to drive the content of the show.
The deadline for uploading the video is 5/12 the weekend after the design showcase
  • Sketch should be named as Final_LastnameFirstname1_LastnameFirstname2.
  • Record the show and upload to youtube and insert it to your post.
  • Attach the code to the post.
  • Credit the artist of the music in your video, also credit yourselves.
  • Final could be done by a team of at most 2 people.

STRETCH GOALS

Try adding these elements to your Midterm:

  • Can you design the show that activate the space? (more than just one projection, maybe additional projection, control a lamp, a fan, etc)
  • Can you have multiple mode of your visual ?
  • Can you generate the music from Processing/Arduino instead of using someone's song?
  • Can you add interactivity to the show so that the audience can also interact with it.
  • Can you have multiple modes that could be switch in between?

GRADING RUBRIC

Your project will be graded with the following rubric:

  • 10%: Project meets technical requirements (correct file format, naming convention, etc)
  • 30%: Project shows creativity, attention to visual quality (composition, color, etc)
  • 30%: Project shows clear use of technical material covered in class
  • 30%: Project shows investigation and exploration of assignment topic

Use the code with two photosensors hooked to an Arduino in a series circuit.
Buttons 1-7 are the scenes of the video in order by number. Hold each to play and release to pause.

In scene 3, the first photosensor in the series(hooked up to A0 on the Arduino), controls the color on the spheres on a spectrum from gray to black.

In scenes 5 and 6, the second photosensor(hooked to A2 on the Arduino), controls the hue on a scale from 0-360.

Take out the slashes from the play.file(); to play the song at the start of the code, though it tend to play really bad.
