Spring Break Practices will resume on Thursday, March 22nd-Saturday, March 24th. We will have our annual cookout at the conclusion of practice on Saturday. Immediately following the cookout, we will install our new protective screens in front of the dugouts, replace siding on our storage shed and finish prepping field for our first home game. Look forward in seeing all of you on Saturday.

Decertification Of 33 Inch Maruccia CAT5 Bat
2/22/2012 1:59 PM

The NFHS has notified all state associations that the NCAA has advised the NFHS the BBCOR decertification process has been implemented for the Marucci CAT5 33-inch model bat.

Effective immediately and until further notice, this bat (Marucci CAT5 33” length) should be considered a non-compliant bat and subject to NFHS Baseball Rules 4-1-3b and 7-4-1a.

In addition the NFHS has provided information on the Rip-IT bat products.  The Rip-It bat has the positioning of the BBCOR .50 certification mark on the taper instead of the barrel.  This is not the proper position for the mark.  However the NFHS has worked out an agreement with the Rip-It management to allow them an administrative remedy to permit their bats to be allowed in high school competition.   The Rip-It product with the BBCOR .50 certification mark on the taper of the bat instead of the barrel is compliant with the NFHS baseball rules due to an administrative remedy.

Another point regarding Rip-It products, at some point last year, the NCAA de-certified the Rip-IT bat due to performance issues.  The company recalled all the bats, repaired them and had them re-certified.  The bats that were repaired have a “re-certified” sticker on the barrel.  The NFHS advises us that they are compliant because they now meet the BBCOR standard.
