Computer Network Security (CNS) Programme Area is a programme area under the School of Computing and Informatics (SCI).

Ever since the advent of Internet, it has been paving the way for better lifestyle and along with that it is contributing potentially to make this world a better place. Considering growing importance of communication network technology, we have been witnessing stupendous expansion of network coverage along with the number of connected devices (IoTs) with network. As our day-to-day activities are significantly relying on Internet technology, we need to ensure that our future network needs to be more robust, resilient and secured.

This programme area aims developing tomorrow’s leader with necessary academic knowledge and also hands-on experience to solve some of the challenging issues of the Networking and Telecommunication Industry.

Currently CNS Programme area offers Bachelor’s (Hons) degree programme in Computer Network and security with an aim of providing students the skill and knowledge to enable them to make practical and valuable contributions towards national development in the field of Networking.

In addition to Academic Degree programme, we would be also focusing on research solving issues pertaining to Networking & Security in Wired, Wireless, Mobile, Cloud, internet of Things (please visit our research page for more detailed about our current research scopes). The Degree students in this programme area would thus have an opportunity to work on such research issues towards their final year project contributing to networking industry.

In this programme Area, currently, we are offering research degree towards Master’s by Research and PhD programme.

We hope that Students at the completion of study in this programme Area would find themselves well equipped with skill, knowledge and hands on experience to be employed in networking industry and towards pursuing higher degrees in Networking.

The academic staff members constituting our programme area have adequate academic and industrial experience pertaining networking.
