My undergraduate research at Western Connecticut State University was in the field of phytoremediation. I tested the effects of inoculating several common cultivars with a genetically engineered bacterium on the volatilization of mercury from contaminated soil.
I am interested in how cultures adopt and/or maintain subsistence patterns that maintain ecosystem health while satisfying human needs.
I am interested in ecological solutions to anthropogenic and industrial problems.
