The Gamma Pi Chapter was established at Moravian College on April 1, 1995. We are located in the Epsilon Chapter along with the Gamma Iota Chapter from Malloy College in Rockville Centre, NY. Our new Province President is former Gama Pi Chapter President Anthony Harris! (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Each semester we present an open Musicale for members of the music department, college, and community. Such past themes of musicales have been: "A Disney Musicale," "100 Years of Music: Music of the 21st Century," "Not My Forte," "Da Capo," and this semester's variety show, "Fall In Peter Hall." Musicales take place in our own Peter Recital Hall, and subsequent receptions take place in the neighboring Hearst Hall.
In addition to the Musicale, members of D.O. also perform for one our music department's weekly performance classes, which is typically followed by a luncheon with members of the Music Alliance.
Every fall semester brings many service projects during the Christmas season, including our annual Carolsing, which takes place after the second Saturday of our college's 2-weekend Vespers services at the nearby Central Moravian Church.
As of last semester, some of the music education majors in D.O. have been volunteering at the local Donegan Elementary School by giving instrumental music lessons to band students after school. An article, published in The Express Times, the local newspaper here in the Lehigh Valley, published this past February can be viewed here. Pictures accompanying this article can be separately viewed here.
For more photos of events and activities of our chapter, please view our "Photo Albums" page, listed on the left.
This past year, our chapter has undergone many organizational changes, including the establishment of committees to oversee music service, fundraising, and other activities. These additions and our standards of operation can be found in our Bylaws, which are attached at the bottom of this page in a PDF format. Note: Bylaws are in the process of being revised this semester.
