I am a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Political Science at the University of Heidelberg.
I study the content and impact of visuals in politics and the media landscape, both focusing on the visual channel and on the multimodal communication emerging from the interaction with written and spoken text. I am also interested in the development of research tools for the study of large volumes of visual communication, as one of the developers of ammico (AI-based Media and Misinformation Content Analysis Tool). My other substantive research areas are experimental design and survey opinion measurement.
