Who is the Deerfield-Willard Home Owners Association (DWHOA)?
If you live in the Deerfield-Willard community in Willard, Missouri; then...you are! The developers of our subdivision set up our Covenants and By-Laws to give all its Homeowners a voice in maintaining the beauty and safety our neighborhood. If you own a home in Deerfield-Willard; then, you are automatically a member.
Who pilots the DWHOA?
The DWHOA is charged with collecting membership dues, ensuring compliance with our Covenants & Restrictions, and generally improving the look and feel of our neighborhood. This is done (in accordance with the By-Laws) through the election of Board Members and Officers charged with these duties. These are non-compensated positions; and, any DWHOA member in good standing is eligible to run for these posts. Elections are typically held at our yearly meetings for all members in July.
What can the DWHOA do for me?
The Association Board and Officers are constantly looking for ways to maintain and improve our community. Some projects have included the annual Community Pool Party, our neighborhood's inclusion in the Willard Police Department's Neighborhood Watch Program, brick signs at the entrances to the subdivision, Christmas lighting contests, and ongoing efforts to maintain properties abandoned due to foreclosure.
What can I do for the DWHOA?
Be involved. The Board and Officers work very hard; but, of course, they're just people. They won't be able to do everything or think of everything. Your ideas for improvement are valuable...feel free to share them. Your participation in meetings and events will help to share the load...many hands make light work. Your diligence in identifying violations and safety concerns will help in resolving small problems before they become bigger problems.
Keep current with your dues. As you can imagine, making improvements and resolving problems often costs money. Keeping your dues current will give the DWHOA a predictable set of resources to use when planning the future projects you suggest. Currently, the dues are $75 paid once yearly during the month of July.
