Machine learning plays a fundamental role in computer vision and medical image analysis research.

In recent years, deep learning methods, in particular deep convolutional neural networks, have emerged as the de-facto standard for most object detection and recognition tasks for natural images and are receiving an increasing amount of attention from the medical imaging community.

However, medical data often comes with additional challenges not yet tackled by mainstream vision research.

In this workshop, we will focus on how to bridge the gap between computer vision and medical image analysis and how state-of-the-art technology, with a particular focus on deep learning can be transferred and adapted to medical image data.
