Jed Friedman

Jed Friedman is a Lead Economist in the Development Research Group (Poverty and Inequality Team) at the World Bank. His research interests include the measurement of wellbeing and poverty as well as the evaluation of health and social policies. Jed's current research topics include investigating the nutritional and development gains from early childhood investment programs, and the development of new approaches to survey-based wellbeing measurement. His recent work has appeared in The Review of Economics and Statistics, The Journal of the European Economic Association, and The Journal of Human Resources, among other outlets. Jed holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Michigan.
