What is Counselling?

“It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end.” - Ernest Hemingway

Counselling takes place in a private and confidential setting and it is a time to talk about any problem or issue that is worrying you. I do not give advice but help you gain insight into your problems, recognise your feelings and help you find ways of dealing with them.

I am trained to listen attentively while you talk through your problems and I will help you find your own answers by encouraging you to see the bigger picture. I will offer guidance, concentrated time and an impartial view.

What sort of problems?
You may be trying to deal with something like an eating disorder, problem with drugs/ alcohol, or bereavement…

You may have worries about relationships, feel isolated, feel depressed, feel anxious, or of not being able to cope with work…

Many of us don't like to burden someone else with our problems. However, a problem shared often is a problem halved and problems come in all shapes and sizes and affect individuals differently.
