SUCCESSFUL people take responsibility for their actions instead of blaming others for their errors, they learn from their mistakes, and embrace change while facing all the challenges in their lives...

I hope you are excited for a very dynamic, fun, and interesting course where you will learn about the human body structural framework and how it all works together to keep us alive. In these courses, you will learn things you can do to improve your health, how to improve your work out routines, how to take care of yourselves better, and how to prepare for your allied health programs by applying the material into critical thinking clinical scenarios.
Please take the time to navigate through my website so you can see all the tools I am making available for your success in the course! In here, you will find the syllabus, schedule, material required, as well as some of the assessments or assignments for the course. You can start by looking at the PowerPoint presentations I use as a backbone for my lectures so you can start familiarizing yourself with the content of the class. BOTH courses have a heavy curriculum and require the use of 21st century skills. To be successful in the class, you need to study from day one and without ANY distractions at least 1 hour EVERY DAY! They both require a lot of dedication, passion, and focus. If you want or need to get an A in this course you will have to invest a lot in the class; but there are MANY possibilities for points and the best reward will be the grade YOU EARN based on the points you accumulate through out the entire semester.
If you want to browse through our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) website to look at our programs, degrees, certificates, and a few other resources here is the link: https://sdmiramar.edu/pathways/stem
As this is an in-person class, we’ll be navigating our way through the new COVID protocols. If you test positive for it you will have to let me know and quarantine for five days which means you will be responsible for those lectures on your own and you will still have to turn in any assignment or assessment if you want to get credit for it. I’ll do my best to make the class engaging, warm, inviting, and authentic as possible.
These are very hard times and regardless of how strong we are it is easy to feel alone sometimes. However, YOU ARE NOT ALONE! If you are struggling with overwhelming stress or are in need of mental health support call the ACCESS & CRISIS 24 hot line (SD County) at 1-888-724-7240 or text "COURAGE" to 741741. If you are currently enrolled at Miramar College and would like to schedule a meeting with a Mental Health Counselor call 619-388-7881.
