DCSOA has been serving the the soccer community of Douglas County, Oregon since 1996..  We're a proud member of the Oregon School Activities Association.  We also serve the USSF-affiliated leagues operating in our area: OYSA, SOCL, KidSports, etc. Please contact our commissioner/assignor if you are interested in refereeing soccer games in Douglas County, Oregon.

  • NFHS Training is Aug. 10 & 11 We'll meet at Cobb School (1281 Walnut Street, Roseburg)  from 9:00am - 2:00pm on Saturday and Sunday.  You'll need to register at osaa.arbitersports.com soon so that you have your rule book on hand for the training.  On Sunday, we'll do some on-field training at Fir Grove Park, so dress accordingly.  We'll eat lunch as we work, so bring food (there's a Subway and fast food nearby if you forget). Saturday: 9:00am - 10:30am2013-2014 Rule Changes, Points of Emphasis10:40am - 11:50amHead Injuries, Cautions (Yellow), Disqualifications (Red)12:00pm -  1:00pmRules 10, 11, 12:  Scoring, Offside, Fouls & Misconduct 1:00pm - 2:00pm Rules 13 - 17:  Restarts ...

  • 2013 NFHS and 2014 USSF Registrations are OPEN! Keith reminded many of us via email that 2014 USSF registration is open.  To use his words:"It is so easy to forget. A great strategy is to register now and not worry about it or forget until it is too late." Thanks for that, Keith!  It is so true.  Register now at oregonreferee.com and get registered for USSF 2014.Also, NFHS (High School) registration is now open for the 2013 Fall season.  NFHS referees can register now at osaa.arbitersports.com.  Look for the green star that says "Register Now!"

  • 6pm First and Third Thursday Soccer Mtg      Everyone is invited to attend the soccer meetings on the first and third Thursdays of each month.  They are held at the soccer building at Fir Grove Park at 6pm.  We cover rules interpretations, mechanics, and principles of officiating.  Soccer officials in Douglas County are asked to attend at least one meeting each month.  If you are interested in becoming a soccer official in Douglas County (Oregon), come by one of our meetings and introduce yourself!

  • Instructional Materials It looks like USSOCCER.COM has changed their site around a bit, but there are still tons of valuable resources to be found there.  I recommend selecting the Referees link on the menu bar at the top of the ussoccer.com page, then the Laws of the Game link on the left sidebar.  There, you will find Referee Education Resources Download at the bottom of the page, and that's where you can find videos, interactive offside quizzes, etc.  The Resource Center still has the online training course, but the additional stuff has moved to the location I listed above.Of particular interest are the videos, books, and FIFA Resources sections.  I've found numerous items that have helped me ...

  • Meeting Times Changed Back to 6:00pm. (revised Feb 12, 2013) Meetings are the First and Third Thursdays of each month at 6:00pm at the Fir Grove Soccer Building in Roseburg.  This is to accomodate refs who have games on those days.  Please make a note of this change in your calendar.As an OSAA Local Association, we're required to complete a minimum of 6 regular training sessions or 10 hours of training per sports season.  See Rule 3 in the Athletic Officials Handbook.This same rule applies to OSAA officials.  To be an OSAA Soccer Official, you must a few things every year: pay your registration fees, pass the NFHS Soccer Rules test, attend a minimum 10 hours of training or 6 training ...
