The mission of the MSCC is to provide a competitive championship experience for middle school age students while representing the core beliefs of the Middle School Athletic Conference, which are safety, sportsmanship, academics, diversity, equity, and trust.

The DCPS Middle School City Championship is designed to:

 -Increase the number of students participating in middle school sports.

 -Build effective partnerships with local universities, corporations and civic groups.

 -Gain exposure for middle school athletics and reward deserving students.

-Develop a direct link between middle and high school athletic programs.

-Provide additional revenue for member schools.
