Wedding venues

My wedding venue:

The Daughters of the American Revolution headquarters ("DAR")

Pros: Very "DC", location, classy and elegant, would work with any color scheme, can bring own liquor, beautiful view of the monument, plenty of great photos ops, love the idea of having the ceremony, cocktails, and dancing outside

Cons: On the small side (130-140 seated), it would be really crowded dancing in the foyer if it rains and may be difficult to do stations, pricey site fee, have to get chairs and tables, not a great venue for kids, having the dancing outside makes the party a bit segregated, may be too hot for dancing outside

 Fingers crossed for good weather!

American Visionary Arts Musuem ("AVAM"), Baltimore, MD

Pros: I loved AVAM, it's so funky and unique, people would definitely remember it, Baltimore right by the waterfront, could take a water taxi there, comes with photobooth, kids could run around the sculpture garden

Cons: Expensive site fee ($9.5k) if you rent the whole thing in order to have exclusive use, the barn alone is small and no AC, can't do the ceremony on the stairs so would have to rent everything to have everyone fit, have to get chairs and tables, Baltimore

 Walters Museum

Pros: Staircase for grand entrance, beautiful and interesting and unique site, cool Baltimore neighborhood

Cons: ceremony and reception in same place (transition time), no outside space, a bit small for 140 people with stations, site fee doesn't include chairs/tables, Baltimore
