My name is David Cimon and I'm a Senior Economist in the Financial Markets Department at the Bank of Canada. Previously, I completed my PhD at the University of Toronto, Department of Economics.

My current research studies financial market structure and the impact of regulation. My recent working papers follow a broad range of topics, including: conflict of interest in the brokerage market, the impact of regulation on market making, trading latency and crowdfunding.

In general, my research interests are in financial economics, financial market microstructure and corporate finance.
