Google Trifecta! Google App Engine, Google Site Search, and GDocs API: Featuring Dave Watts, Certified Google Enterprise Instructor
In this session, we'll examine an application that allows a Google Site Search user to easily generate a file in the GSS synonym XML format from a spreadsheet. The application was built in Google App Engine with Java, using the Google Plugin for Eclipse. It uses Google Account authentication, then uses that authentication with AuthSub to allow access to that user's Google Docs. It then uses the GDocs API to read values from a spreadsheet and build the XML file. We'll talk about the entire process, from getting started with Google App Engine, to how authentication and AuthSub work, to how the Google Spreadsheet API works.
