QUALITY LIFE EDUCATION SERIES

THE QUALITY LIFE EDUCATION SERIES

In South Asia there has been an urgent need for a type of education that complements the information-giving, memory-based, syllabus-oriented approach. Quality Life Education (QLE) is an attempt to fulfill this need. It puts education at the service of life. It encourages critical reflection within real contexts in a participatory and creative way. It uses a method of learning that does not rely on text books but on the innovative adaptation of QLE manuals to all educational environments such as the home, the school or college and the holiday camp. Each manual contains lesson plans that are designed to stimulate lively interaction on various life-engaging issues. The aim of QLE is to open the mind and heart of a participant to an alert, creative, collaborative and responsible citizenship.
